The Community Outreach Core is a key function of the Center of Excellence and includes three primary activities: (1) creation of a breast cancer disparities coalition through community engagement; (2) assessment of barriers to obesity prevention in underserved areas and development of community-prescribed solutions; and (3) HIV testing, outreach and education of at-risk young women.
