Resumen
Pseudonym based authentication schemes for vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) help in ensuring privacy. However, maintaining large set of pseudonyms results in large overhead for traditional Certificate Revocation List (CRL) based solutions. In this work, we address this issue and present a cuckoo filter-based lightweight authentication scheme for VANETs which reduces the overhead associated with CRL verification. Security analysis and verification demonstrate that our protocol is robust against man-in-the-middle attacks, replay attacks, and impersonation attacks. Performance evaluation also shows that our scheme has a significantly lower authentication overhead than other related schemes.
