Resumen
During the past 5000years, hundreds of cave dark zones were entered, explored, and used in various ways by Precolumbian people in Eastern North America. In particular, several miles of the world's longest cave—the Mammoth Cave System, Kentucky—were known prehistorically. Archeological remains in portions of that cave system are briefly described and discussed with comparative reference to other caves in the Eastern Woodlands of North America.
