Resumen

The use of ANSYS macros for illustrating concepts in mechanical engineering courses is discussed. ANSYS is a widely-used software tool for structural, thermal, and fluid flow analysis. It seems that their use could easily provide good supplementary information to reinforce concept in a range of undergraduate engineering courses. The macros can be executed by a student with no ANSYS background by entering a single command at the ANSYS command line. Students can vary system parameters and observe the effect on calculated system response through high level graphical representation.
