Resumen

Results of experiments are presented that were undertaken to evaluate cellulose derivatives as antiredeposition agents in detergent formulations, with the hope that performance characteristics at least as good as these for heavy-duty detergents could be realized with significantly reduced phosphate levels. A full factorial experiment was carried out at three levels of anionic surfactant, three levels of phosphate and three levels of each cellulose derivative. The detergents formulated were evaluated for their ability to prevent an oily soil (used motor oil) from depositing onto clean fabric swatches.
