Resumen

Automated fault analysis becomes increasingly desirable because an increasing volume of fault data have been captured by various types of recording devices in power systems. This paper presents developments on algorithms and software related to automated fault analysis. Our analysis is based on voltage and current waveforms. We have developed algorithms to effectively identify the fault types, fault starting time, and fault duration, which are capable of handling faults with evolving fault types. The software module that implements the algorithms is delineated. Sample analysis results based on field data are reported.
