CAN bus monitoring node network for spryer application performance evaluation

Producción científica: Conference contributionrevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

A CAN-based performance monitoring system was developed to collect individual nozzle flow rate and pressure data across sprayer boom. The sensing nodes were comprised of one Microchip microcontroller that collects flow rate sensor and pressure sensor data from six nozzles. Sensor data were sent to a central data collection computer through CAN bus. Each node had a four bit ID configuring switch that allowed 16 different IDs for collecting data from up to 96 nozzles. The sensing node sends out data at 2 Hz. A set of quick release connecter fittings were designed to easily add the flow and pressure sensors to different type sprayer nozzle bodies and tips. The collected data were stored in a data file on the central data collecting computer that can be used to evaluate the sprayer application performance.
