Resumen
Axial flux machines are attracting increasing attention due to their compact structure. The torque to weight ratio can be further enhanced by the use of carbon nanotube (CNT) windings. This paper proposes a coreless axial flux machine with CNT windings. Calculations based on analytical equations and 3D finite element analysis are carried out to evaluate the performance improvement resulting from the replacement of copper coils with CNT windings.
