Resumen

A table of effective leakage areas of building components was included in chapter 23 of the 1989 ASHRAE Handbook - Fundamentals. There has been considerable research and data obtained since that table was developed. Therefore, one of the objectives of ASHRAE Research Project RP-438 was to compile, catalog, and analyze the available data on air leakage of building components. This paper documents the various techniques for determining and reporting air leakage and the development of the building component air leakage table to be contained in the 1993 edition of ASHRAE Fundamentals.
