Resumen
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is the classification of psychopathology developed under the authority of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). The current version of this diagnostic manual is DSM-IV-TR (APA, 2000), standing for the fourth edition, text revision. Included within are the diagnostic criteria for such mental disorders as major depressive disorder, social phobia, panic disorder, nicotine dependence, alcohol abuse, schizophrenia, mental retardation, pedophilia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, mathematics disorder, stuttering, dissociative identity disorder, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, pathological gambling, frotteurism, nightmare disorder, and many others.
