Resumen
Based on volume diffusion and small slope approximation, the effect of grain boundary migration on grain boundary grooving is studied. Using the Fourier transformation, a closed form solution for grain boundary groove profile is obtained. With a finite migration velocity, the groove profile develops asymmetrically with time (the atoms accumulate faster in the direction of the migration velocity and form a higher peak), and the asymmetry also increases with migration velocity.
