Resumen
Antagonism is one of the fundamental domains of personality. Antagonism includes such maladaptive traits as being suspicious, mistrustful, deceptive, manipulative, exploitative, self-centered, selfish, oppositional, aggressive, brutal, cruel, arrogant, conceited, and callous, as well as such adaptive traits as being cautious, skeptical, cunning, competitive, shrewd, strong, and savvy. The purpose of the current chapter is to describe the origins of its identification, alternative models, and the presence of adaptive as well as maladaptive attributes.
