Resumen
Using the charge exchange facility and second arm spectrometer at TRIUMF, we have measured the [Formula Presented] double differential cross section for 198 MeV incident neutrons, at scattering angles of [Formula Presented] and excitation energies up to 30 MeV. Via a multipole decomposition analysis we have extracted both the Gamow-Teller strength distribution and the GT transition probabilities to low-lying [Formula Presented] bound states. Comparison to a shell model calculation, using the full [Formula Presented] space and universal SD interaction, shows reasonable agreement in the strength distribution, but reduced summed strength in the experiment [Formula Presented] for [Formula Presented] relative to the theory [Formula Presented] for [Formula Presented] We discuss the role of configuration mixing and Pauli blocking on the [Formula Presented] GT strength distribution.
