Generation and detection of lung stress waves from the chest surface in rabbits

Producción científica: Conference articlerevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

In anesthesized rabbits, stress waves were generated by imposing a 2-10 Hz distortion to the diaphragm just beneath the ribcage. A sequence of 10 distortions was imposed. The propagated wave was detected by two accelerometers. In two animals, stress wave velocity averaged 98 cm/s at functional residual capacity (FRC) and increased to 140 cm/s with lung inflation to 15 cmH20 airway pressure.
