AMS has received support from the Bell Addiction Medicine Scholar Program at the University of Kentucky (Chair: Michelle Lofwall, MD, DFASAM, DFAPA) and from the DREAM Scholar Program, a research training program housed within the Center for Clinical and Translational Science department (Grant UL1TR001998). Its goals are to develop a cadre of underrepresented health equity scientists all while offering career development training, mentorship, providing community, and broadening the diversity of UK’s scientists who engage with special populations. DREAM stands for Disparities Researchers Equalizing Access for Minorities. JB reports funding from National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) grant K23DA055695. The authors report no other financial disclosures, funding sources, or conflicts of interest relating to the creation of this work.
