Resumen
Effects of the post-aging condition on the microstructure and magnetic performance of Sm 2(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr) 17 magnets were investigated. The second quadrant M-H hysteresis curve was measured. The microstructure was characterized using OM, XRD, and TEM. It was found that, as the aging temperature increased in the range of 850°C - 900°C, the remanence of the Sm 2(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr) 17 magnets increased while the coercivity decreased. Both the remanence and coercivity of the Sm 2(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr) 17 magnets were improved by a two-step aging, aging at 900°C, followed by the aging at lower- temperature, e.g, 850°C. Microstructure analysis indicated that the improvement in the magnetic properties may result from change of the pyramidal cell structure and microchemistry with the aging conditions.
