Resumen
The morphology of a series of aliphatic-aromatic polyamide blends has been investigated as a function of blend composition and thermal processing history. Melt-miscible blends of semicrystalline polyamide 4,6 and amorphous polyamide 6I undergo transamidation reactions leading to the formation of block copolymers. The influence of these interchange reactions on the crystallization, amorphous phase behavior and glass-rubber relaxation characteristics of the blends is discussed.
