Resumen
Mankind has sought out and worked with metals for millennia. The earliest known metalwork dates to approximately 5000 B.C.1 Metals are ubiquitous in modern society. They form the structures of our buildings and our automobiles, and they are vital components of our computers and appliances. Many chemical reactions, including those used to manufacture products ranging from foods to drugs, are catalyzed by metals. Metals, including iron, chromium, and cobalt, are essential components of our diet.
