Model predictive control of plasma pipe welding process

Producción científica: Conference contribution › revisión exhaustiva

Resumen

This paper addresses the development of a model predictive control system for the quasi-keyhole arc pipe welding process(QAPWP). To this end, a single input single output (SISO) linear discrete model structure is proposed based on the mechanism analysis of QAPWP. Then parameters in the linear model are identified, both online and offline in the experiments. On the base of the model, the model predictive control (MPC) algorithm is designed to control the process. The closed-loop experiments verified the effectiveness of the developed controller despite the variations in the manufacturing conditions (thus the model parameters).
