Resumen

Treatment of [NiII(tn)3][OTs]2 or aqueous solutions containing nickel(II) p-toluenesulfonate and 1,3-propanediamine (tn) with aqueous K4MIV(CN)8 • 2H2O (MIV = Mo, W) affords one-dimensional chains of {[trans-Ni II(tn)2(OH2)][trans-NiII(tn) 2][(μ-NC)3MIV(CN)5] • 6H2O} stoichiometry (MIV = Mo, 2; W, 3). An additional three-dimensional network, Cs4[CuII(OH2) 4]2[CuII(NH3)]4[Mo IV(CN)8]4 • 2H2O (4), is obtained by treating aqueous solutions of Cs3MoV(CN) 8 with CuCl2 • 2H2O in concentrated ammonia. Each network has been characterized via structural and magnetic methods. The distorted square anitprismatic MIV(CN)84- centers are diamagnetic and the paramagnetism of each network originates from the NiII and CuII centers present.
