Resumen

The composition, morphology, size and shape of the particles generated by cyclic flexure of stainless steel and titanium alloy transpedicular spine implants were determined using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray analysis and Quantlm image analysis software. No differences in morphology, size and shape of the debris between the two different alloys were evident. Also, particle morphology, shape and size seemed to be independent of the cycle number from which such particles were generated.
