Plug and play architectures in proximity networks

Producción científica: Conference contributionrevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

In recent years many plug and play technologies have emerged. Today application developers and network designers have a range of these technologies to choose from in the implementations of their systems. To make the choice that best suits the requirements of their implementations, designers and developers need to fully understand the benefits and limitations associated with the popular plug and play technologies available on the market. We have carefully reviewed these technologies to address these issues. In addition, we discuss the role of plug and play technologies in home area networks and demonstrate by means of a prototype implementation how the UPnP technology can be exploited to provide remote access to devices connected to a home area network.
