Resumen
The influence of feed solution chemical composition on the performance and fouling of various reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) membranes was studied. These membranes can be used to reduce concentrations of both total and dissolved solids (TDS) and organic pollutants from secondary effluents in order to meet potable use regulations. The regression analysis showed that abiotic fouling is more important than biofouling in the decline of mass transfer coefficient (MTC).
