Resumen

The effects of substrate moisture content, surfactant addition upon inoculation, depth of substrate, and length of fermentation on xylanase production were determined for solid-state fermentation of Trichoderma longibrachiatum on wheat bran. Moisture content had a significant effect on enzyme activity with higher yields obtained at 50% than 75% moisture content wet basis. Depth of substrate also had a significant effect on enzyme activity with highest yields at 1.5 cm.
