N2 - Propofol is a commonly used anesthetic, particularly in neurocritical care settings, but it can also be associated with an infusion syndrome. Careful assessment of risk factors for propofol-related infusion syndrome in children can help in early recognition and conversion to alternate anesthetic medications. Although muscle biopsy is traditionally used to confirm the diagnosis, MRI of the head may be helpful based on the characteristic white matter findings.
