Resumen

The rapid screening method to simultaneous detection of thirty basic drugs in equine urine is discussed. The liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS) techniques are used for the purpose. The method is more sensitive, accurate and provides lower sample costs compared to ELISA screening techniques. The use of LC/MS n to screen for a large number of drugs concurrently in complex and problematic matrix is found to be robust, reliable and very productive, allowing the analysis of over 80 specimens per day (2,400 drug determinations).
