Resumen
In 2017, the Exceptional Education Department at the University of Central Florida (UCF) relaunched the Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Education teacher preparation program after a 6-year hiatus. The relaunch included a redesign of the program from a traditional model to one that is communityembedded, providing ongoing field-based experiences aligned with academic coursework. This chapter describes the community-embedded, experiential learning process used in this program and a discussion of program effective ness. Key components of the model in use at UCF, along with initial program outcomes and student feedback are reported.
