Resumen

Hemolysis related to valve dysfunction is a well-recognized complication after mechanical valve prosthesis insertion. However, hemolysis secondary to mitral valve repair is less common and the traditional treatment is reoperation with repair or replacement of the valve. In this review, the authors report a case of severe hemolysis after mitral valve repair that was successfully managed conservatively.
