Resumen

(Chemical Equation Presented) By capitalizing upon the reversibility of glycosyltransferase-catalyzed reactions, EryBV was characterized in vitro as the erythromycin mycarosyltransferase and the EryBV substrate specificity was investigated. Two-GT (EryBV/AveBI) aglycon-exchange reactions also led to the production of novel hybrid "erythromycin-avermectin" macrolides.
