Resumen
This paper is he review of recent studies of deformation and fracture behaviors, especially the anomalous strain-rate effect on plasticity of a 50Mo-50Re alloy. The ductility of this alloy was found to increase with increase in strain rate within the range of 01-6 s-1 to 1 s-1 at room temperature in air. The fracture surfaces in the alloy changed from brittle to ductile in nature with increasing strain rate A damage-toughening phenomenon was also observed in this alloy.
