Resumen
The effect of tethered chains on the toughness of an impenetrable interface was studied. The presence of tethered chains was found to improve the toughness of such interfaces, and the improvement was attributed to a molecular level factors that determine whether or not the mixing will be achieved, tethered chain areal attachment density and dispersity. When mixing was achieved, tethered chain length further influences the toughness enhancement of the interface.
