Resumen
This chapter discusses the opportunities that PMUs bring to enhance system monitoring and protection. Three topics are included: (1) monitoring of power system operation based on SE techniques, (2) monitoring of power system models and parameter estimation for key components, and (3) wide-area fault detection and location based on PMU measurements.
