Resumen

Natural hazards such as floods causes severe damages to properties, infrastructure as well as loss of life. For sustainable infrastructure planning and disaster mitigation during severe floods, flood modeling is necessary. Flood modeling and flood plain inundation studies are the basis for planning suitable and economically viable alternatives for protecting human life and infrastructure. These studies also provide scope to analyze the usefulness of implementing preventive measures. In this research study, a three stage modeling effort was taken to model hydrological process, channel hydraulics and virtual 3D model for proper visualization. HEC HMS, HEC RAS models were constructed using extensive field data. Using Unity platform a 3D model was implemented. The usefulness and model advantages are presented in this research study.
